John-Richard Ordóñez-Varela - Project Manager Nanotechnologies & Sensors

John-Richard obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science both in Electrical Engineering and his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the Andes University, Colombia, in 1990, 1993 and 1997. In addition, he received a Philosophæ Doctor degree in Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications engineering from Telecom Bretagne, France, in 2004.

He worked at Tipiel, a Technipetrol-Technip subsidiary in Colombia - from 1996 to 1999 as Instrumentation Leader and Field Engineering Coordinator. He was Research Engineer at Mines ParisTech from 2004 to 2006 developing medical tools for the diagnosis of eyes illness.

In 2006, he joined Total Exploration & Production as Instrumentation Specialist at Technologies Division. Since 2012, he is in charge of research concerned with Nanotechnologies and MicroFabricated Systems in the Prospective Labs research program, now named SMARTY (SMART Materials, Nanotechnologies, Sensors & TelemetrY).
