Philippe Solans - Exploration & Production - Total

Philippe Solans - Senior Geophysicist

Philippe holds an engineering degree in Geophysics from EOST (Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre in Strasbourg, France) and a Master in Geosciences from the Université de Strasbourg.

He joined Total in 2012 in the Geoscience Research Center (GRC) in Aberdeen, then settled in the Reservoir Seismic Monitoring service. Passionate about monitoring and seismic characterization of reservoirs, Philippe was involved in both operational and research projects and filed a patent on the calibration of petro-elastic models (CaliPEM, WO/2017/202637).

In 2016, he participated as an Exploration Geophysicist in the finalization of the South Atlantic Pre-Salt Synthesis (TE/ISS). Philippe later joined Al Shaheen Phase 3 project as a Reservoir Geophysicist, where he was in charge of the geophysical interpretation of the Kharaib reservoirs.

In 2018, he joined the Geosciences Division of Total Gabon as a Senior Geophysicist and discovered the world of operations. Within the Production Performance Division of Total Gabon, he now finds monitoring themes, in particular via the Virtual FlowMeter project, which aims to better understand the behavior of wells in real time.
